Sample Clearance Part VII

DOWNLOAD: The Baby Huey Story “Hard Times

Bear gets on me for “snitchin’ & violatin'” © DJ Premier, but I don’t care.  Showcasing the origins of samples has opened me up to all kinds of music.  Honestly due to all the samples of sped up soul, jazz, funk and rock, I haven’t had time for a lot of Hip Hop.  Granted, that has to do with the lack of quality in the genre, but still.  There’s only 24 hours in a day.  Can’t fit it all. This song here was sampled by Ghostface Killah on “Buck 50” which was on his amazing [2000] release Supreme Clientele.

i dont clown too much on the snitching. it is nice to know where stuff came from. i never knew which song was which on supreme clientele. the song titles on the cd cover didnt match up to what was on the cd. and there was more songs on the cd than on the cover. but anyway, hearing this orginal makes me miss going to dusty groove. they was always playing some funky soulful shit.
